ALL-STAR PULFER IS AMERICAN ASSOCIATION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Gary SouthShore RailCats INF Daniel Pulfer (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 20.

Pulfer, who will be a starter on the American Association North All-Star team, was 12-for-23 at the plate this week for the RailCats. On Monday evening, he was 2-for-3 in a 5-4 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at the U.S. Steel Yard. Pulfer drove in three of Gary’s five runs in the game. He followed that up with a 4-for-4, two-triple night on Tuesday that included an RBI in a 7-6 win. In the series finale against Fargo-Moorhead, Pulfer was 2-for-4. The weekend brought the Amarillo Sox to Gary to face the RailCats. Pulfer was 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday’s 9-2 win, and drove in a run in a 7-6 loss on Sunday.

On the season, Pulfer is hitting .342 with eight doubles, six triples and six home runs with 46 RBI. The former University of Oregon Duck is in his second season with the RailCats.

Pulfer and the RailCats open a road series at the Sioux City Explorers tonight at 7:05 p.m. Central time at Lewis & Clark Park in Sioux City, Iowa.
