Texas 2, Cleburne 0 – Box Score
Both the Texas AirHogs and the Cleburne Railroaders recorded five hits in the game but the AirHogs (7-22) turned theirs into a pair of runs in a 2-0 win.
Both of the AirHogs’ runs came in the top of the seventh inning. LF Jonathan Moroney hit a lead-off double and then scored when 1B Chen Junpeng reached on an error. Junpeng scored later in the inning when C Luan Chenchen singled with two outs.
No batter for either team had more than one hit.
Reliever Tyler Matzek earned the win for working the sixth and seventh innings and allowing just one hit while striking out three batters.
Fargo-Moorhead 3, Gary SouthShore 0 – Box Score
Despite being outhit in the game, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (16-14) edged the Gary SouthShore RailCats 3-0.
The RedHawks had just four hits in the game but one of them was a three-run home run from Correlle Prime in the bottom of the fourth inning. That proved to be more than enough offense for the RedHawks’ pitching staff. Starting pitcher Bret Helton earned the win after throwing 5.2 innings and allowing four hits while striking out four batters. Four relievers combined to finish the shutout including Geoff Broussard, who picked up his sixth save of 2019.
For the RailCats, SS Marcus Mooney finished with a team-high two hits. Prime had two hits for the RedHawks.
Sioux Falls 11, St. Paul 6 – Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries (18-12) built an early lead and made it stand up for an 11-6 win against the St. Paul Saints.
The Canaries went to work right away in the bottom of the first inning as OF Mike Hart (2-for-3) hit a lead-off home run and they never trailed from there. 1B Trae Santos and 2B Jordan Ebert each added RBIs later in the inning to take a 3-0 lead. In the third, the Canaries tacked on five more runs thanks to a pair of bases-loaded walks, a bases-loaded hit by pitch and RBIs from C Graham Low and DH Adrian Nieto (2-for-5).
RF Clint Coulter had a team-high three hits and a run scored and 3B Mitch Glasser hit a three-run home run in the seventh.
For the Saints, 1B/C Jeremy Martinez went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and CF Dan Motl added three hits, an RBI and two runs scored.
Winnipeg 10, Chicago 3 – Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (17-11) scored seven unanswered runs late to earn a 10-3 win against the Chicago Dogs.
Eight different Goldeyes had at least one hit on the night and three of them recorded a pair. 1B/3B Dominic Fiociello and CF Reggie Abercrombie each had two hits and two RBIs. The Goldeyes took control of the game in the sixth inning with four runs, two coming on bases-loaded walks and another coming on a wild pitch. Winnipeg added three more runs in the eighth to put things out of reach.
For the Dogs, 1B Keon Barnum hit his ninth home run of the year and DH Kelly Dugan had a pair of RBIs.
Sioux City at Kansas City – Postponed (Rain)
The game between the Sioux City Explorers and the Kansas City T-Bones was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19, as a part of a doubleheader scheduled to being at 11:05 a.m. Central Time.
