Fargo-Moorhead 5, Sioux City 4 – Box

Fargo-Moorhead scored four runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead and they would hold on late to beat the Sioux City Explorers by the score of 5-4. Fargo-Moorhead 1B C.J. Retherford and C Petey Paramore each had two hits in four at-bats with Paramore driving in a pair of runs. RedHawks starting pitcher Danny Gutierrez had a sharp outing en route to his second win of the season. Gutierrez went seven innings allowing two earned runs on six hits and collected five strikeouts. Sioux City 3B Mark Sobolewski hit his first home run of the season in defeat.

St. Paul 16, Rockland 8 – Box

With the score deadlocked at 5-5 through three innings, the St. Paul Saints of the American Association would score 11 runs over the next four to cruise to a 16-8 win over the Rockland Boulders. Every batter in the St. Paul lineup collected at least one hit with seven of them having multi-hit games. Saints 1B Henry Wrigley went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. St. Paul RF Brandon Tripp drove in four runs in a 3-for-4 night while CF Angelo Songco launched his first home run of the season and had five RBI. St. Paul starter Jeff Shields got the win as went five innings and gave up six earned runs on eight hits.

Wichita 11, Laredo 2 – Box

Wichita rolled out to a 6-0 lead after just one inning and cruised from there to an 11-2 win over the Laredo Lemurs. The Wingnuts banged out 16 hits with six batters having multi-hit games. Wichita DH Michael Hernandez and 1B Colt Loehrs both had two hit games with Hernandez driving in two runs and Loehrs plating two runs. Wingnuts RF David Amberson chipped in with three hits in five at-bats while leadoff hitter SS Ryan Khoury had three RBI. Laredo SS Devin Goodwin and LF Gerardo Avila each collected two hits in the loss.

Grand Prairie 9, Amarillo 0 – Box

It was all Grand Prairie in this one as the AirHogs defeated the Amarillo Sox, 9-0. Grand Prairie LF Palmer Karr led the way offensively as he went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and a RBI. AirHogs DH Jason Botts chipped in with a home run along with scoring two runs and driving in three while 1B Andres Rodriguez had two hits and two RBI. The pitching for Grand Prairie was terrific tonight as the combination of starter Ryan Searle and reliever Brandon Wilkerson combined for a six-hit shutout and fanned nine Amarillo batters. Searle picked up the victory and is 1-1 on the season.

Sioux Falls 12, Kansas City 5 – Box

After falling behind 2-0 after an inning and a half, Sioux Falls scored five runs in the second and two more in the third to take a 7-2 lead and would go on to a 12-5 win over the Kansas City T-Bones. The Canaries hit four home runs in the game. Two of them came from 1B Chris Duffy who had a monster game going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBI. Sioux Falls 2B Shelby Ford had a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI while DH A.J. Kirby-Jones launched the other home run and scored four times. Canaries starting pitcher Kyle Vazquez earned his second win as he gave four earned runs on 10 hits in six innings pitched.

Winnipeg 8, Lincoln 5 – Box

The Winnipeg Goldeyes scored four runs in the sixth inning to rally from a 4-2 deficit and beat the Lincoln Saltdogs 8-5. Winnipeg SS Tyler Kuhn went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs and two RBI. Goldeyes CF Reggie Abercrombie had three hits in four at-bats along with a home run and two RBI. Winnipeg reliever Gabe Aguilar tossed 1 ½ innings of scoreless relief to pickup the win. Lincoln 3B Kevin Howard went 4-for-5 with two RBI in the loss.
