WINGNUTS RHP PEACOCK HEADED TO PITTSBURGH

Peacock
Durham, N.C. — The American Association announced on Friday that the contract of Wichita Wingnuts RHP Chris Peacock was purchased by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Peacock joined the 2014 league champions in August and went 2-0 in six relief appearances, striking out four hitters in six innings of work. He also appeared in four of the Wingnuts’ seven playoff games, registering a 2.70 ERA in 3.1 innings pitched.
Previously, the native of Daphne, Ala., pitched in the Pecos, North American and United Leagues, and played collegiate baseball at the University of Mobile and at Faulkner State. He is the fourth Wichita player to be sold to a major-league organization this season, after RHPs Jon Link and Matt Nevarez, and INF J.T. Wise.
