Wichita 7, Texas 6 (Final – 11 innings) – Box

The Wingnuts ended the weekend series on a high note by winning the last two games including Sunday’s 11 inning contest. With the bases loaded and one out in the inning, RF Richard Prigatano drove in the game-winning run by walking to force the runner on third home. Sunday’s win was the Wingnuts’ 55th of the season compared to just 37 losses. DH Matt Chavez was instrumental in his team’s victory as he collected three hits and drove in four runs. RHP Tyler Kane pitched the eleventh for the Wingnuts and blanked the Airhogs as he picked up his 11th win of the season. Kane (11-1) pitched a perfect inning in the contest.

Fargo-Moorhead 6, St Paul 5 (Final – 11 innings) – Box

The Redhawks continued their torrid pace of late as they won their second straight extra-inning game and their fifth consecutive win overall to sweep the Saints on Sunday afternoon. With the score tied in the eleventh inning, LF Chris Grayson smacked a sacrifice fly to score CF Devin Ahart from third to give the Redhawks their 52nd win of the season. DH Keury De La Cruz crushed a home run for the second game in a row in the win and contributed two hits for the Redhawks. LHP Anthony Pacillo pitched a scoreless eleventh to pick up his first win of the season in 19 appearances. Pacillo (1-1) struck out two batters in his inning of work.

Winnipeg 8, Sioux Falls 3 – Box

The Goldeyes closed out a series sweep against the Canaries on Sunday afternoon by defeating the Sioux Falls ball club by a score of 8-3 to earn their 57th win of the season. The Goldeyes took a quick 2-0 lead after two innings before the Canaries countered with a run in the third. The Goldeyes scored once more in the third inning and opened up a 7-1 lead with a four-run fourth inning. LF Josh Romanski produced the big hit of the inning, connecting on a two-run double. Romanski finished the game with two hits while also scoring twice and driving in two runs. The Goldeyes scored once over the final five innings but limited the Canaries to just three runs in their five-run win. LHP Kevin McGovern extended his strong pitching as he picked up his 12th win of the season. McGovern (12-3) allowed three runs over seven innings to go along with seven strikeouts. DH Michael Falsetti hit his second home run of the year in the loss.

Gary Southshore 10, Kansas City 5 – Box

The Railcats used a five-run second inning to aid them in conquering the T-Bones on Sunday afternoon. With the T-Bones leading 1-0 in the second the Railcats exploded for five runs and scored three more in the third inning. The Railcats tacked on three more runs in the fifth and won a comfortable 10-5 game. In just his seventh game of the season, RF Joey Havrilak picked up his first five RBIs of the season and also contributed three hits. LF Cameron Newell also produced a multi-RBI game as he picked up three RBIs in the victory. LHP Alex Gunn pitched six solid innings to earn his eighth win of the season. Gunn (8-5) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out four batters in the victory.

Sioux City 9, Lincoln 4 – Box

The Explorers beat the Saltdogs for the second day in a row on Sunday afternoon to pick up their 42nd win of the season. Before the Saltdogs had even scored a run the Explorers had put four on the board en route to the five-run victory. The Saltdogs finally scored in the fourth inning, but the Explorers countered with three more runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a commanding 7-1 lead in the eventual win. 1B Daniel Jackson blasted his first home run of the season in the Explorers’ win. LHP Cody Forsythe pitched six one-run innings to pick up his fifth victory. Forsythe (5-8) allowed three hits, walked a batter and struck out three in the winning effort.
