Joplin 9, Kansas City 8 (12 Innings) – Box
Joplin 1B Geraldo Valentin launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Blasters a 9-8 walk-off win over the Kansas City T-Bones. This game was a wild affair as Joplin had a 7-1 lead after six innings only to see Kansas City score seven runs over the next three innings to take an 8-7 lead. Blasters LF KC Huth would then plate a run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the contest up at 8-8 and send it to extra innings. The game stayed deadlocked until the bottom of the 12th when with one out Valentin hit the blast that gave Joplin the big victory. Valentin was 3-for-5 on the night with two runs scored and three RBI while CF Sean Smith had two hits and scored a run. Blasters pitcher Victor Ramirez tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings to notch the win.
Lincoln 5, Laredo 0 – Box
The Lincoln Saltdogs pitching staff tossed their second consecutive shutout as they downed the Laredo Lemurs, 5-0. Lincoln starting pitcher Shairon Martis tossed the first six innings of the contest allowing two walks and five hits while striking out five batters. Martis notched the victory and improved his record to 6-5 on the season. The bullpen trio of Clayton Cook, Jeff McKenzie and Stephen Shackleford threw three shutout innings of relief with Shackleford collecting his second save. Offensively for the Saltdogs, 3B Connor Teykl went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while 1B/DH Rene Leveret picked up two hits and a RBI. For Laredo, the team did not score a run in the final 25 innings of the three-game series.
Fargo-Moorhead 14, St. Paul 6 – Box
It was all Fargo-Moorhead in this contest as they rolled out to a 6-0 lead after three innings of play and cruised to a 14-6 victory over the St. Paul Saints. The RedHawks banged out 14 hits in the game, six of which were home runs. Fargo-Moorhead DH K.D. Kang led the offense going 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. RedHawks 1B Dustin Geiger added a pair of home runs with three RBI while C Ryan Wagner had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored and two RBI. RedHawks starting pitcher Taylor Stanton threw six innings in collecting his fourth win of the season. Stanton gave up three earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.
