TYLER GRAHAM HEADED TO THE WEST COAST

Durham, N.C. – The San Francisco Giants purchased the contract of OF Tyler Graham from the Sioux City Explorers on Wednesday.

Graham, who was claimed by the Explorers off of waivers in October, split the 2013 season between Fargo-Moorhead and Winnipeg. In 65 games with the two teams, the native of Great Falls, Mont., hit .296 with nine doubles and 31 stolen bases, good for fifth in the American Association.

Previously, he spent seven seasons in the San Francisco and Arizona organizations, reaching the major leagues with the Diamondbacks in 2012. In 2011 with Fresno of the Pacific Coast League, Graham stole a club-record 60 bases, highest in all of Triple-A.

Graham was originally chosen by the Giants in the 19th round of the 2006 draft after playing collegiately at Oregon State University, where he was a part of the Beavers’ 2006 College World Series-winning squad.
