T-BONES WIN IN WALK-OFF OVER CANARIES

Kansas City 4, Sioux Falls 1 (10 Innings) – Box

Third baseman Jordan Edgerton launched a game winning three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Kansas City defeated Sioux Falls in a walk-off, 4-1. The T-Bones have now won six in a row and keep pace with the Lincoln Saltdogs atop the Central Division. Kansas City 2B Marcus Lemon went 3-for-5 with a run scored while 1B Kevin Keyes added a pair of hits in five at-bats and plated a run. T-Bones pitcher Luis Paula tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory and improve his record to 3-2 on the season. Paula gave up a walk and struck out one in the seven batters faced. For Sioux Falls in the losing effort, 1B Chris Jacobs hit his league leading 13th home run of the season.

Lincoln 3, Texas 1 (10 Innings) – Box

Lincoln brought home a pair of runs off a two-base error by Texas reliever Luis De La Cruz in the top of the 10th inning as the Saltdogs downed the AirHogs, 3-1. The game was scoreless through eight innings of play before Lincoln 2B Cesar Valera launched a solo home run in the top of the ninth to give the Saltdogs a 1-0 lead. Texas immediately tied it up at 1-1 in the bottom of the inning as 1B Levi Scott singled home CF/PR Trevor Sealey.

Valera had a 2-for-5 night with a run scored and a RBI while 1B Nathaniel Maggio collected a hit in two at-bats and plated a run. Lincoln pitcher Michael Wagner tossed two innings of relief and notched his second win of the year. Wagner gave up an earned run on three hits along with a strikeout.

Wichita 7, Winnipeg 4 – Box

First baseman Matt Chavez belted a three-run home run as part of a four-run first inning for Wichita as the Wingnuts downed the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 7-4. Chavez had a solid night overall going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and four RBI. Wichita 2B Christian Stringer had a 2-for-4 night with two runs scored while DH Brent Clevlen had two hits and a run batted in. Wingnuts starting pitcher Eddie Medina tossed seven solid innings in earning his sixth win of the season. Medina gave up an earned run on four hits and struck out five batters. For Winnipeg in the losing effort, 1B David Bergin hit a double and scored a run.

Sioux City 4, St. Paul 2 – Box

First baseman Bubby Rossman hit a three-run double in the second inning to give Sioux City a 3-1 advantage and they would go from there to take home a 4-2 win over the St. Paul Saints. The Explorers had three batters with two-hit games including LF LeVon Washington who went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Explorers C Dylan Kelly and RF Jayce Ray each had a pair of hits with Kelly tallying a run. Sioux City starting pitcher Kramer Sneed threw seven terrific innings in collecting his second win. Sneed gave up an earned run on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts.

Cleburne 7, Salina 0 – Box

The Cleburne Railroaders scored five runs in the first inning to take an early 5-0 lead and would roll on from there to a 7-0 win over Salina. Cleburne received a solid pitching performance tonight from starter Dylan Mouzakes. Mouzakes went the first seven innings of the game allowing a hit and four walks while striking out eight Stockade batters. The righty won his first game with the Railroaders and has an even 3-3 record on the season. Offensively for the Railroaders, leadoff hitter KC Huth went 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored while 1B Geraldo Valentin collected a pair of hits with a run scored and a RBI. Left fielder Axel Johnson and RF Oscar Mesa each added home runs for Cleburne.

Gary SouthShore 5, Fargo-Moorhead 3 – Box

Gary SouthShore scored a pair of runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to rally from a 3-1 deficit and defeat Fargo-Moorhead by the score of 5-3. The RailCats had eight hits as a team and was led by C Wilfredo Gimenez who went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Gary SouthShore 3B Randy Santiesteban added two walks and a run while RF Colin Willis, SS Ryan Fitzgerald and DH Frank Martinez each contributed a hit and plated a run. RailCats pitcher Ryan Fritze tossed a scoreless seventh inning with a strikeout to notch his fifth victory of the year. Gary SouthShore reliever Carlos Diaz fanned three batters over two innings of work to pick-up his third save.
