Kansas City 2, Texas 1 (Game 1 – 7 Innings) – Box

Kansas City leadoff hitter Cedric Hunter hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the T-Bones a 2-1 walk-off win in game one of a doubleheader. Hunter had three hits in the game with a pair of RBI while DH Leonardo Rojas added a single and a run scored. Kansas City starting pitcher Matt Sergey (pictured) had a sensational performance on the mound as he tossed a no-hitter in the big win. Sergey allowed an earned run and two walks to go along with 10 strikeouts in 104 pitches. With the victory, the righty improved his mark to 3-3 on the season. For Texas in the losing effort, 3B Casio Grider scored the team’s only run in the top of seventh as he stole home plate.

Kansas City 4, Texas 3 (Game 2 – 7 Innings) – Box

The Kansas City T-Bones scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a 3-2 deficit and beat Texas, 4-3 to complete the doubleheader sweep. Kansas City leadoff hitter Cedric Hunter had another solid offensive performance going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Hunter in the twinbill went a combined 5-for-7 at the plate and drove in three runs. T-Bones 1B Kevin Keyes went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI while RF Kyle Petty added a double and a run batted in. Kansas City starting pitcher Calvin Drummond allowed three earned runs over six innings pitched and picked up his fifth victory of the season. Drummond gave up two walks and six hits and struck out four batters.

Gary SouthShore 2, Salina 0 (Game 2 – 9 Innings) – Box

Gary SouthShore starting pitcher Jake Matthys and three relievers combined on a two-hit shutout as the RailCats defeated Salina, 2-0 in game two of the day-night doubleheader. Matthys turned in a solid performance on the mound as he went five innings allowing only a hit while fanning seven batters in a 66-pitch effort. The bullpen trio of Jesse Pratt, Jorge De Leon and Drasen Johnson tossed the final four innings of the contest giving up only a hit and a walk to go along with five strikeouts. De Leon notched his sixth victory while Johnson nabbed his seventh save. Gary SouthShore tallied both of their runs in the seventh inning.

Cleburne 4, Wichita 2 – Box

Designated hitter Pichi Balet’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Cleburne a 4-1 advantage and that would be the difference in the game as the Railroaders defeated Wichita by the score of 4-2. The 1-2-3 hitters for Cleburne led the way offensively as 3B Mitch Glasser, 2B Maikol Gonzalez and RF Derrick Pyles went a combined 5-for-10 at the plate with four runs scored and a RBI. Railroaders starter Dylan Mouzakes allowed an earned run in six innings of work to earn his fourth win of the year. Mouzakes allowed a walk and seven hits to go with five strikeouts. For Wichita, 3B Martin Medina had a 2-for-4 night with a run scored and a RBI.

Sioux City 9, St. Paul 7 – Box

After the 14-inning marathon last night, the Sioux City Explorers came back tonight to grab an early lead and defeat St. Paul by a 9-7 score. Sioux City pounded out 13 hits in the game with four players having multi-hit games. Explorers 1B Dre Gleason showed the way going 4-for-5 with a run scored and four RBI. Sioux City LF LeVon Washington had a 2-for-4 game with two runs scored and two RBI while 2B Joe Bennie added a pair of hits in three at-bats with two runs batted in. Explorers pitcher Ryan Flores tossed four innings of relief and picked up the victory. Flores gave up two earned runs on three hits and struck out six hitters. The righty is now 3-2 on the year.

Sioux Falls 6, Lincoln 4 – Box

Sioux Falls scored three runs in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and defeat the Lincoln Saltdogs by the score of 6-4. The Canaries, who have now won four straight, received solid production from the top four in their batting order. Center fielder Dan Motl, RF Jabari Henry, LF Ty Morrison and 1B Chris Jacobs had a combined five hits to go along with four runs scored and three RBI. Sioux Falls pitcher James Jones threw two solid innings of relief to notch his second win of the season. Jones struck out four of the six batters that he faced. For Lincoln, DH Curt Smith went 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Winnipeg 5 (10 Innings) – Box

Right fielder K.D. Kang belted a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to help Fargo-Moorhead to a 7-5 win over Winnipeg. The RedHawks had a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the ninth only to see the Goldeyes tally three runs and send it to extra innings. Kang had a 2-for-5 night with two runs scored and two RBI while 3B Josh Mazzola went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. Fargo-Moorhead reliever Casey Weathers gave up the three runs to Winnipeg in the ninth but still collected the win, his third of the season. For Winnipeg, CF Reggie Abercrombie drove in a pair of runs and set a new American Association record for career RBIs with 446.
