Cleburne, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders have named Gabe Suarez as Field Manager and Director of Baseball Operations in the organization’s first season.

Prior to joining the Railroaders, Suarez has had an experienced career as a player and coach in affiliated and independent Baseball. Suarez was drafted 26th by the Montreal Expos in the 2004 MLB draft out of South Mountain Junior College and had an 11-year professional career with the Expos/Washington Nationals, Colorado Rockies, Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers. Additionally, Suarez was a member of Team Spain in the 2013 World Baseball Classic, and managed the American Association’s Joplin Blasters in 2016.

Suarez recently commented, “I am honored to be named the manager of the Cleburne Railroaders. There is a rich history of baseball in Cleburne that goes back to 1906 when the great Tris Speaker led the Railroaders to a championship. I look forward to opening a new chapter of professional baseball in Cleburne, and continue that tradition of excellence that began so many years ago. I have had the privilege to get to know the ownership group and management team of the Railroaders, as well as the City leaders, who have been working tirelessly to build this beautiful new ballpark and bring baseball back to the community. Their passion for the game is inspiring, and the only way to match that passion is to bring winning baseball to Cleburne.”

Suarez, is a native of Denver, Co., and currently lives in Phoenix.
