SOX CRUISE TO BIG WIN OVER AIRHOGS

Amarillo 8, Grand Prairie 1Box Score

The Amarillo Sox jumped out to an early lead with five runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 8-1 win over the Grand Prairie AirHogs.

Sox LF Johnny Bladel had an impressive night at the plate as he went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. DH Kyle Nichols also had a strong game as he added three hits and an RBI. CF Jason Martin was 2-for-4 on the night and had a three-run home run in the top of the second inning. 2B Geraldo Valentin added two hits and a run scored.

For the AirHogs, 1B Jason Botts was the only batter to have more than one hit and he went 3-for-4 and scored a run. 3B Matt Burns had the team’s lone RBI.

 

Sioux Falls 8, Fargo-Moorhead 1Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries put six runs on the board in the sixth inning on their way to an 8-1 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Sunday night.

The Canaries scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead and then exploded in the sixth to put the game out of reach. The sixth inning rally started as LF Chris Duffy walked to start the inning and later scored on an error. C Kevin Dultz singled in a pair of runs two batters later and DH Brandon Jones pushed two more across with a triple to right field. 1B A.J. Kirby-Jones singled to bring the final run of the inning home after Jones’ triple.

Jones and Dultz each went 2-for-4 with two RBI and 3B Carlos Mendez had a team-high four hits. For the RedHawks, five different batters each had one hit and CF Nic Jackson had the RedHawks’ only RBI.

 

Winnipeg 18. Gary SouthShore 5Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes racked up 20 hits and turned them into 18 runs as they handled the Gary SouthShore RailCats 18-5.

All ten Goldeyes that stepped to the plate on Sunday night registered at least one hit and seven of them had multiple hits. 2B/3B Jake Blackwood went 4-for-5 with five RBI and four runs scored to led the way. 1B/3B Casey Hearther added four RBI and SS Tyler Kuhn added three more on a 2-for-5 night. C Jordan Guida scored three times on the night as he went 3-for-4.

For the RailCats, three different batters had two-hit games including LF Josh Romanski who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

 

Sioux City at Lincoln – Postponed/Field Conditions

The game between the Sioux City Explorers and the Lincoln Saltdogs was postponed due to field conditions and will be made up on Monday as a part of a doubleheader scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m. Central Time. The Saltdogs clinched the Central Division on Sunday as the RailCats fell to the Goldeyes.

 

St. Paul 6, Kansas City 5 – Suspended/Bottom 9

The St. Paul Saints took the lead with a solo shot from 1B Angelo Songco but then the rains came and suspended the game. The Saints and the T-Bones will finish the game Monday at 1:05 p.m. Central Time.
