South All-Stars 7, North All-Stars 0 (American Association All-Star Game) – Box
In front of a crowd of 6, 889, the South All-Stars shutout the North All-Stars by a 7-0 score in the 2014 American Association All-Star Game. The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Laredo Lemurs SS Devin Goodwin hit a solo home run to give the South a 1-0 lead. The South extended its advantage to 2-0 in the sixth inning thanks to another solo home run, this time by RF David Espinosa of the Wichita Wingnuts. The South would then open the game up by plating five runs in the ninth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single by 1B Ian Gac of the Lincoln Saltdogs. Goodwin was named the game’s Most Valuable Player as he went 2-for-5 with a double along with his fourth inning home run. Marquis Fleming of the Lincoln Saltdogs picked up the victory tossing 1 ½ innings of shutout baseball.
