Kansas City 4, Chicago 3 – Box Score

The Kansas City Monarchs (4-3) plated four runs in the bottom of the second and made them stand up on the way to a 4-3 win against the Chicago Dogs.

In the top of the second, LF August Voight bounced into a fielder’s choice that allowed 2B Grant Kay to score. In the home half, 1B Casey Gillaspie scored RF Jan Hernandez with a fielder’s choice and then scored on a double from CF Joel Booker. 2B Darnell Sweeney singled home C Alexis Olmeda and Booker scored to cap the rally.

In the sixth, RF Danny Mars scored as 1B K.C. Hobson bounced out and 2B Grant Kay hit a solo home run to pull within one run but that proved to be the final run of the game.

 

Kane County 9, Sioux City 7 – Box Score

The Kane County Cougars (5-2) put on a late surge to tackle the Sioux City Explorers 9-7 on Friday night at Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Stadium.

The Cougars were trailing 3-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning, but 3B Alexis Pantoja tied the score as he scored on a double from DH Sherman Johnson. Two batters later, CF Jimmy Kerrigan drew a bases loaded walk and then Johnson scored in the next at-bat as Josh Rolette bounced out. In the eighth, Kerrigan and Rolette both drew bases loaded walks and 2B Dylan Busby allowed them both to score as he hit a single to center later in the inning.

The Explorers pulled two back in the bottom of the ninth with RBIs from SS Nate Samson and Sebastian Zawada but the comeback attempt ended there.

 

Lake Country 8, Winnipeg 5 – Box Score

The Lake Country DockHounds (4-3) rode a hot start to a 8-5 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Friday night at the inaugural game at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.

The DockHounds took the early lead as 1B Gio Brusa singled home 3B T.J. Bennett (3-for-4) and DH Blake Berry (2-for-4) singled home SS Gabriel Noriega (2-for-4) in the bottom of the first and CF Daikan Yoh and Bennett hit back-to-back solo shots in the second. Lake Country never trailed the rest of the way, and added three more runs in the eighth as RF Tristen Carranza (2-for-4) hit a three-run homer.

For the Goldeyes, 1B David Washington went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

 

Milwaukee 11, Sioux Falls 8 – Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen turned 17 hits into an 11-8 win against the Sioux Falls Canaries on Friday night.

Milwaukee (5-2) scored in each of the first four innings to build a 8-0 lead and never looked back. DH Keon Barnum paved the was as he went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBIs. Barnum hit a two-run homer in the top of the first and a three-run shot in the top of the eighth. RF Chad Sedio added three this and three RBI while C Dylan Kelly, SS Mason Davis and 2B Bryan Torres each added a pair of hits.

For the Canaries, SS Ozzie Martinez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and both DH Jabari Henry and 3B Gavin LaValley had a pair of RBIs.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Cleburne 1 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (4-3) held the Cleburne Railroaders to a single run as they claimed a 7-1 win on Friday night.

RF John Silviano plated the first run with an RBI double in the first inning and CF Darian Sandford and C Manuel Boscan (3-for-5) added RBI base knocks in the second to push the lead to 3-0. 3B Drew Ward (2-for-3) added a solo shot in the fifth and the RedHawks tacked on three runs in the top of the ninth as Sandford scored on a wild pitch, 2B Peter Maris doubled home Boscan, and scored on a single from Ward.

Cleburne’s lone run came in the fourth when CF Zach Nehrir scored on a sac fly from DH Bryce Brueggemeyer.

 

Lincoln 13, Gary SouthShore 3 – Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs (5-2) racked up 13 hits on the way to a 13-3 win against the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Seven different Saltdogs recorded hits in the game and four of the had multi-hit games. SS Josh Altmann went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI and C Skyler Weber went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs. CF Hunter Clanin went 2-for-5 with two runs and DH Sherman Graves went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. RF Garett Delano added three RBIs.

For the RailCats, 2B Michael Woodworth went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.
