SAINTS RALLY FOR ANOTHER WIN

 St. Paul 6, Winnipeg 5- Box

The Saints rallied for a matinee win over the Goldeyes with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. C Joey Paciorek doubled with one out, and scored when SS Anthony Phillips singled him home. He advanced to second and came in to score on an RBI single from 2B Dan Kaczrowski.

Those four hits were four of just seven the Saints had all day. Phillips was 2-for-3 to lead the way. For Winnipeg, DH Nic Jackson went 2-for-4.

RHP Mike Zouzalik struck out the side in the eighth inning to earn the win out of the bullpen. The save went to RHP Ryan Rodebaugh, who struck out a batter in a scoreless ninth.

 

Wichita 7, Sioux Falls 4- Box

The Wingnuts scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to claim a series win over the Canaries. 3B TJ Mittelstaedt hit a two-RBI double in the fifth, and 2B Starlin Rodriguez drove him in on a triple. CF Jayce Ray hit a two-RBI double in the sixth, stole third and scored on a wild pitch.

Mittelstadet had two hits to pace the Wingnuts, while RF Harrison Kain also had two knocks. For Sioux Falls, 1B David Bergin and DH Brian Humphries, both former American Association Players of the Week, had two hits each.

RHP Tim Brown struck out three in 6.2 innings to earn the win. The save went to American Association Pitcher of the Week Dakota Watts, who worked a scoreless ninth.

 

New Jersey 10, Fargo-Moorhead 2- Box

The Jackals cruised past the RedHawks in a matinee contest at Yogi Berra Stadium by plating six runs in the bottom of the eighth. DH AJ Kirby-Jones dealt the major blow with a grand slam in the frame. Four Jackals turned in multi-hit games on the day- SS Peter Mooney, 2B Anthony Gomez, RF Leandro Castro, and LF Justin Trapp.

Newly-acquired 1B Taylor Oldham went 2-for-3 for Fargo-Moorhead in defeat.

LHP Francisco Gracesqui earned the win in relief for New Jersey. He went two innings and struck out two batters without allowing a hit or run.
