SAINTS PITCHER SOLTER PICKED UP BY CLEVELAND INDIANS

Matt Solter

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The St. Paul Saints have sold the contact of RHP Matt Solter to the Cleveland Indians organization, the American Association announced. Solter is the tenth player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019, and the 30th player since the start of the 2018 season.

Solter was 3-5 with a 4.73 ERA in 15 starts for St. Paul in 2018, his first season with the club. He pitched 80.0 innings and allowed 52 runs (45 earned) on 87 hits. Solter recorded 56 strikeouts and walked 31 batters.

Solter joined the Saints following two seasons in the San Francisco Giants organization. He pitched for both San Jose of the California League (High-A) and Augusta of the South Atlantic League (A) in 2017. Solter began his professional career with the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the American Association in 2015 following his college career at Furman University (S.C.).
