Fargo-Moorhead 10, Chicago 6 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rallied late on Thursday night to win game five of the North Division Championship Series and advanced to the American Association Finals.

The Dogs took the lead in the top of the first inning as DH Michael Crouse (2-for-4) and 2B Joey Terdoslavich (2-for-3) hit RBI doubles and 3B T.J. Bennett (3-for-4) hit a two-run home run. In the top of the fifth, Terdoslavich homered to give the Dogs a 5-0 lead.

Fargo-Moorhead found the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth as RF John Silviano (2-for-5) singled home both DH Jordan George and C Dylan Kelly (2-for-4). The RedHawks took the lead in the seventh as 1B Correlle Prime hit an RBI single and Silviano hit a grand slam.

CF Anfernee Grier (2-for-5) pulled one back for the Dogs with an RBI single in the top of the eighth to get within one run but the RedHawks added three more runs in the home half after CF Alex Boxwell hit a lead-off homer, 2B Nick Novak (2-for-2) scored when George reached on an error and Kelly singled to push George across the plate.

The Dogs threatened in the top of the ninth and loaded up the bases but with a full count and two outs, C Ryan Haug, representing the tying run, flew out to center field to end the game.

The RedHawks will now host the first two games of the Championship Series against the Kansas City Monarchs. Game 1 will take place tomorrow, Friday, September 17.
