REDHAWKS, SALTDOGS AND LEMURS ALL WALK OFF TO WINS

Fargo-Moorhead 3, Gary SouthShore 2 — Box Score

Fargo-Moorhead CF Kes Carter put the exclamation mark on the RedHawks 3-2 win as he hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to edge past the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

The game was tied at 2-2 heading into the final frame thanks to RBI from 2B Elbert Devarie and DH Alex Crosby as well as 3B Josh Mazzola and DH Keury De La Cruz, who singled home run in the eighth to level the score. Fargo 2B Ryan Pineda led all batters with three hits in the game.

In the ninth, Carter was the first RedHawk batter to the plate and he turned on a 1-1 delivery to give his team the win.

 

Lincoln 5, Texas 4 — Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs walked off on the Texas AirHogs 5-4 thanks to a one-out RBI single from CF Robby Kuzdale.

The game was tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth when SS Danier Moreira hit a single to lead off the inning. Moreira moved to second when 2B Dan Hennigan bounced out and Kuzdale brought him home with a single to end the game. Kuzdale went 2-for-5 with three BRI on the night and three other Saltdogs also added a pair of hits.

For the AirHogs, both 3B Leon Byrd and SS Juan Sanchez had three hits in the game.

 

Laredo 2, Kansas City 1 — Box Score

After the Kansas City T-Bones leveled the scored in the top of the eighth, SS Alvaro Rondon hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the ninth to give the Laredo Lemurs a 2-1 win.

LF Leandro Castro scored the first run of the game on a single from 3B Cesar Valera in the bottom of the sixth but the T-Bones responded in the eighth when LF Starlin Rodriguez scored on a single from 2B Brett Wiley. In the bottom of the ninth, RF Denis Phipps hit a lead-off infield single, and would up at third after a put out and a 2B J.D. Pulfer single. Rondon lifted a ball to centerfield and Phipps tagged up to seal the win.

All six of Laredo’s hits came from six different batters and for the T-Bones, Wiley went 3-for-4.
