Fargo-Moorhead 11, Joplin 7 – Box

Fargo-Moorhead rolled out to a 3-0 lead after three innings of play and cruised to an 11-7 victory over the Joplin Blasters. The RedHawks had 16 hits in the game with eight batters collecting at least one. Fargo-Moorhead DH Keury De La Cruz had a sensational game going 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI. RedHawks 2B Ryan Pineda added two hits, including a home run, and scored two runs while 3B Josh Mazzola plated a pair of runs in a 1-for-4 night. Fargo-Moorhead starting pitcher Tyler Alexander threw 6 2/3 innings and nabbed his eighth win of the season. Alexander gave up six earned runs on eight hits and fanned eight Joplin batters. For the Blasters in the losing cause, LF Sean Smith led the way going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run.

Wichita 6, Laredo 2 – Box

Wichita starting pitcher Alex Boshers tossed six strong innings in leading the Wingnuts to a 6-2 victory over the Laredo Lemurs. Boshers earned his eighth win of the year as he gave up two earned runs on seven hits and struck out a pair of Laredo batters. Offensively for Wichita, the 1-2 hitters of 2B Christian Stringer and DH Zack Cox did the most damage as they went a combined 6-for-10 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBI. Wingnuts 1B Matt Chavez also added a double and two RBI. With the victory, Wichita takes 2-of-3 from Laredo in the series and now owns a 6 ½ game lead in the South Division.
