Radcliff Leads Milkmen Down South, Dorminy Goes Eight Shutout Again

Milwaukee Milkmen outfielder Baron Radcliff and Sioux Falls Canaries starter Thomas Dorminy won the American Association’s Carbliss batter and pitcher of the week for the week ending 7/27, the league announced Monday.

Radcliff was tied atop the league with teammate Erik Ostberg for the most runs driven in this week with eight. He finished the week hitting .444 (8-for-18) with a double, triple, two home runs and six runs scored.

There were a ton of runs scored in Milwaukee’s six-game series split down in Cleburne and Radcliff was a huge part of the Milkmen bouncing back to win the final three games. He had seven hits across those final three games and six runs driven in.

Radcliff started this season with the Gary SouthShore RailCats and hit just .180 in 41 games. Since he joined Milwaukee, he’s hit .314 with 11 hits and 11 RBI in just 10 games.

On the pitching side, Dorminy put forth an awesome performance to help the Canaries to a big time sweep of the best team in the East in the Lake Country DockHounds.

The left-hander went eight shutout frames on Sunday afternoon, setting the Canaries up for a 4-2 win to finish the sweep. He allowed just four hits and one walk in the start while striking out five.

It was his second straight start going eight innings and he has been an innings-eater all season, going at least five in all 14 of his starts. His ERA is also down to 2.38, second best in the league with his league-best nine victories as well.

This is Dorminy’s return to the American Association after he made 11 starts with Chicago in 2020. He has bounced around multiple partner leagues after he was previously in the San Diego Padres organization from 2014 – 2017.

Carbliss is the founding partner of the American Association.
