PERIO JR.’S 18-RBI WEEK EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Kansas City T-Bones’ IF Noah Perio Jr.  (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending August 26.

In seven games last week, Perio Jr. drove in an astounding 18 runners while batting .414 with two home runs, four doubles, four walks and only three strikeouts. The left handed slugger’s 18-RBI week vaulted him into sixth place among the RBI leaderboard with 63. On the season, Perio Jr. is hitting .302 with seven home runs over 44 games each with Kansas City and the St. Paul Saints.

The California native began his professional career in 2009 after being drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 39th round of the MLB Draft. Perio Jr. spent six seasons in the Marlins organization before making his first stop with in the American Association with the Sioux City Explorers in 2015. After a year in Sioux City, the Concord High School grad got an opportunity to begin 2016 in the Los Angeles Dodger organization before ending the season with the Explorers. Perio Jr. spent all of the 2017 season with the San Diego Padres double-A team, the San Antonio Missions. The 26-year old began the 2018 season with the St. Paul Saints before being traded to Kansas City for Zach Walters on July 9.
