Durham, N.C. — The contract of Laredo Lemurs RHP Danny Reynolds has been purchased by the Atlanta Braves organization, the American Association announced on Thursday.
Reynolds was a superb midseason pickup for the Lemurs, going 2-0 with a 1.68 ERA in 14 bullpen appearances after joining the club in late July. The Las Vegas, Nev., native fanned 27 hitters in 16 innings of work while walking just three and limiting opposing hitters to a .161 average.
Previously, Reynolds spent seven seasons in the Los Angeles Angels organization, reaching as high as Double-A. He was a sixth-round choice out of high school by the Angels in the 2009 draft.
The 25-year-old is the sixth Laredo player to have his contract purchased by a major-league organization in 2016, following:
- RHP Ryan Beckman, Miami
- 3B Travis Denker, Arizona
- RHP Matt Sergey, Oakland
- RHP Kamakani Usui, San Francisco
- RHP Kyle Winkler, Tampa Bay
