Winnipeg 4, Milwaukee 3 (11 Innings) – Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldeyes walked off on the Milwaukee Milkmen 4-3 on Thursday night at Franklin Field in the bottom of the 11th inning.
The Goldeyes held the lead for most of the game as they posted two runs in the first inning by way of a 1B Kyle Martin two-run homer. The Milkmen scored their first runs in the top of the eighth as LF Aaron Hill reached on an error that allowed SS Mason Davis to score and he scored when CF Brett Vertigan singled to right field, tying the score.
In the bottom of the eighth, Martin, a 2020 All-Star, homered again to push the Goldeyes back in front but the Milkmen tied things up again in the top of the ninth as Davis singled home 1B David Washington. In the 11th, 3B Jordan George hit a one-out single and scored the game-winner three pitches later when LF Jonathan Moroney (3-for-5) doubled.
Milwaukee will begin the American Association Finals on Saturday at home as the top seed against the Sioux Falls Canaries in a best-of-seven series to decide the 2020 Champion.
Fargo-Moorhead 7, St. Paul 4 – Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks finished the 2020 season on a winning note as they topped the St. Paul Saints 7-4 in the season finale.
The RedHawks took the lead in the top of the second inning when 2B Christian Ibarra singled to score DH Correlle Prime. They added to the lead in the fourth when Ibarra lifted a sac fly and C Dylan Kelly (3-for-4) doubled to score Prime. In the fifth, LF Forrestt Allday (2-for-5) singled home both RF Brennan Metzger and CF Alex Boxwell. Kelly added a solo shot in the sixth and he scored again in the eighth when SS Sam Dexter (2-for-4) singled.
All four of the Saints runs came in the bottom of the sixth as CF Alonzo Harris hit a two-run homer and RF Max Murphy and SS Nate Samson (2-for-4) hit back-to-back RBI singles to right field.
Starting pitcher Tyler Pike struck out 11 batters in 5.2 innings of work to pick up the win.
Sioux Falls at Chicago (Doubleheader) – Cancelled (Rain)
The doubleheader between the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Chicago Dogs was rained out on Thursday night and as the regular season is ending, the games will not be made up. The Canaries will advance to the American Association Finals beginning on Saturday in Milwaukee.
