Winnipeg 3, St. Paul 2 – Box

Winnipeg scored three runs in the fifth inning to rally from an early 2-0 deficit and beat St. Paul by a 3-2 final. Goldeyes DH Jon Weber went 2-for-4 on the afternoon including a big two-run single in the fifth to give Winnipeg the lead for good.  Goldeyes CF Adam Heisler and RF Brady Wilson each scored a run in the contest with Heisler drawing two walks. Winnipeg starter Nick Hernandez picked up his sixth win of the season as he went 5 2/3 innings allowing two earned runs on five hits. The southpaw now has a 1.99 ERA, good for third best in the American Association.

Fargo-Moorhead 17, Ottawa 5 – Box

It was all Fargo-Moorhead is this one as the RedHawks scored six runs in both the fifth and eighth innings and rolled to a 17-5 win over the Ottawa Champions. Fargo-Moorhead had 16 hits in the game with 11 of them coming from the top four in the order. RedHawks CF Drew Muren, SS Zach Penprase, LF Chad Mozingo, and RF Joe Dunigan also combined to score 12 runs and drive in 11.  RedHawks starting pitcher Ty Kelley tossed 6 2/3 innings to pick-up the victory. Kelley allowed four earned runs on eight hits and struck out four batters. For Ottawa in the loss, 1B Jon Talley went 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Wichita 10, Kansas City 3 – Box

The Wichita Wingnuts rolled out to a 6-1 lead after three innings and would go to a 10-3 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones. Wichita banged out 14 hits in the contest with five batters having multi-hit games. Wingnuts 1B Matt Padgett led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and a RBI. Wingnuts 2B Starlin Rodriguez and 3B TJ Mittelstaedt each had three hits in the game with Rodriguez scoring three runs and Mittelstaedt driving in three. Wingnuts starting pitcher Tim Brown notched his fifth win of the season. Brown gave up two earned runs on seven hits and fanned two batters.

Sioux Falls 8, Gary SouthShore 1 – Box

Sioux Falls tallied all eight of their runs over the final four innings, including five in the seventh, to down Gary SouthShore by an 8-1 score. Canaries LF Brian Humphries went 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI while 1B David Bergin had two hits and scored two runs. Sioux Falls 2B Michael Wing chipped in with a home run along with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Canaries starting pitcher Tyler Pearson allowed only an unearned run over six innings of work to collect his second win. Pearson gave up two hits and struck out two hitters.
