The Goldeyes outslugged the Stockade in a 12-10 thriller in Wichita’s Lawrence Dumont Stadium on Monday afternoon. Winnipeg scored in six of their eight offensive innings, and scored multiple runs in five of those six. Trailing 9-8 going to the bottom of the seventh inning, the Goldeyes got a leadoff double from RF David Rohm. Two batters later, DH David Bergin hit a double of his own to score Rohm and tie the game, and Bergin scored the go-ahead run on an RBI single by 1B Shawn Pleffner.

Pleffner, the first American Association Pointstreak Player of the Week for 2017, notched another two-hit game on Monday, and is hitting .600 through the first five games. 3B Wes Darvill and C Alixon Suarez had three hits each for Winnipeg in the win.

LHP Joeanthony Rivera threw a scoreless inning for the win, and RHP Ryan Chafee struck out two in 1.1 innings of relief work, earning the save.

For Salina, CF CJ Epperson was 3-for-5 with two RBI in the loss.
