1. Sioux Falls Canaries (45-43, 3rd in West)

Not even in the playoff picture a couple weeks ago, the Canaries have become the late-season story of the American Association, shooting themselves into third place in the West. Losing their eight-game win streak early this week didn’t faze them, as the Canaries won series against their top competition in the West in the Monarchs and their ‘Siouxland’ rival in the Explorers. Starter Seth Miller won pitcher of the week for his complete-game shutout against Sioux City and the offense has been doing damage as well, particularly Mike Hart who had four homers this past week.
