Laredo 12, Trois-Rivieres 5 — Box Score
The Laredo Lemurs took control of their interleague contest with the Trois-Rivieres Aigles with a seven-run fourth inning and went on to claim a 12-5 win at home.
That fourth inning surge was started by a single from RF Harrison Kain, who was 3-for-5 in the game, that pushed DH John Alonso across the plate. Later in the inning, 2B Travis Denker hit a two-run homerun and the scoring was rounded off as Alonso came back to the plate and smacked a double that allowed 1B Gerardo Avila to score. Avila and Denker both had two hits in the game as did CF Nick Van Stratten and SS Devin Goodwin.
The Aigles mounted a rally in the eighth as LF Joey Side blasted a three-run homerun but those three runs were the last Trois-Rivieres would score in the game. C Kyle Lafrenz had a team-high three hits in three at bats for the Aigles and three other Aigles – CF Steve Brown, 3B Eric Grabe and RF Carlos Guzman – each had two hits.
