2025 Home Run Derby Participants and Rules

The Home Run Derby Lineups are locked in for July 21 at Newman Outdoor Field. Some sluggers from around the league will come together for the Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Co. Home Run Derby.

 

The Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Co. Home Run Derby will be streamed live for free on AABaseball.TV starting at 7pm CT on Monday, July 21.

The Rules

First round

1. All eight (8) batters will get 3:00 minutes to hit as many HRs as possible
2. One :30 time out allowed for each participant
3. Top four (4) move to 2nd round

 

Second Round

1. Seeded based on First Round (1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3; lower seed hits first)
2. All four (4) batters will get 3:00 minutes to hit as many HRs as possible
3. One :30 time out allowed for each participant
4. Winners (2) advance to the final

 

Final

1. Both batters will get 2:00 minutes to hit as many HRs as possible
2. One :30 time out allowed for each participant

 

Tiebreakers – All Rounds

1. In event of ties, competitors will get 1:00 minute to hit as many HRs as possible
2. If still tied, swing-off (alternating at bats)
