MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Kansas City T-Bones have sold the contract of RHP Robert Calvano to the San Diego Padres organization, the American Association announced. Calvano is the first player to have his contract sold to a Major League organization in 2019, and the 18th player since the start of the 2018 season.

Calvano signed with the T-Bones for the stretch run after spending two-plus seasons in the St. Louis Cardinal organization. In 2018, he was 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA and a save in six relief appearances for Kansas City. He also spent time with Palm Beach (Florida State League/High-A) and Peoria (Midwest League/A) in the Cardinals organization.
Calvano began his professional career in 2016 after being drafted by the Cardinals in the 38th round out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In his career, Calvano is 1-5 with a 6.39 ERA in 35 games.
Calvano is the 11th member of the T-Bones 2018 roster to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization since Opening Day.
