EP 3 is an in-depth discussion about W.A.R. (Wins Above Replacement) for both position players and pitchers. W.A.R. measures a player’s value in all facets of the game by deciphering how many more wins he’s worth than a replacement-level player at the same position. It’s a leading indicator of a player’s value to a team and in aggregate a leading indicator of the probable success of a team over the course of a season.
